Disguise

Jakks Pacific’s costume division has renewed its licensing agreement with Nintendo to launch costumes and accessories based on the video gameco’s brands in the fall. Disguise rolled out its first Mario and Luigi costumes in 2013, and the range has since been expanded to include other Nintendo franchises such as The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. As Nintendo has launched new video games, theme parks and movies in recent years, Disguise says it has seen a significant demand for costumes based on these brands, particularly in EMEA, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.

Moonbug Entertainment

Amazon Prime Video has picked up Moonbug shows including Oddbods, Blippi and Little Baby Bum to stream in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Portugal. The platform has also acquired Spanish-language versions of CoComelon JJ’s Animal Time and Little Angel, with plans to release all of the content this year.

Ubisoft

Distributor OTTera had brokered a deal to make a streaming channel dedicated to Animaj and Ubisoft Film & Television’s Rabbids franchise available across Europe on Samsung TV Plus. The Rabbids channel carries all four seasons of Ubisoft’s animated series Rabbids Invasion, which revolves around alien rabbits who wreak havoc on Earth wherever they go. France Télévisions launched the show in 2016, and Ubisoft has previously sold it to Netflix and Nickelodeon.

Pinkfong

Theater chain Cinemark has signed an exclusive US distribution deal with South Korean studio Pinkfong to screen its new feature film Pinkfong Sing-Along Movie 3: Catch the Gingerbread Man. Cinemark will show the CG-animated movie at participating locations across the US on September 9 and 10. This is the third title in Pinkfong’s series of Sing-Along pics, and it focuses on two friends who journey to a land of ice cream to capture the spicy villain and turn him into the perfect topping for their dessert. Catch the Gingerbread Man has already made more than US$300,000 in its home market of South Korea since premiering in July, according to Box Office Mojo.
