London-based distributor Media I.M Incorporated has signed a multi-year deal with Mexican broadcaster TelevisaUnivision’s consumer products team to manage licensing for Sunny Bunnies in Mexico.

Spanning three years, this partnership plays into TelevisaUnivision’s bid to introduce the brand to the Mexican market in a major way, and its licensing division plans to focus on toys, publishing, back-to-school and apparel first.

The broadcaster picked up the first six of seven Sunny Bunnies seasons (156 x three minutes in total) for its Canal 5 kids channel in April, and started airing them in July. Poland’s Animation Café produces the series, which revolves around five magical rabbits who travel to locations such as parks and museums to learn.

Media I.M Incorporated has already sold Sunny Bunnies to broadcasters and streaming platforms including Disney Channel (US),  Milkshake! (UK), Canal+ (Austria) and Netflix (global).

TelevisaUnivision is a Spanish-language media giant that was formed in January 2022 when Grupo Televisa and Univision merged in a US$4.8-billion deal. The company says it currently reaches more than 100 million Spanish-speaking viewers every day.

Mexican licensees that sign on for Sunny Bunnies will join existing consumer products partners such as FanMania (which will roll out ranges of apparel and accessories across MENA this year), Redan UK (magazines), Chouette (activity books) and Poetic Brands (apparel).
